Well with all the best intentions to keep this as up to date as I can and with no posts since Wednesday it's not been a great start!

In my defence it has been so hectic - the last week of the school term has meant spending more time at school than the kids! So let me introduce my two step children. Jack is 11 and his younger sister is 10. They both have the same birthday, 17th November!

Jack started Rydon Community College in Storington last September and Elise is in her final year at West Chiltington community school. This week started off with Elise going to a pantomime in Worthing, West Sussex, tuesday was art day, wednesday was her school disco, on thursday her year group created and performed a pantomime to the rest of the school and parents which was followed by a carol concert and then friday was the end of term! Jack's school was really quiet in comparison.

And yesterday was really busy for us as well, last week we found out that Sarah's uncle passed away and that the funeral was going to be Friday 16th, the same time that we had our first home visit with the midwife. So after playing phone tag with the midwife all week we finally got to speak yesterday morning and arranged to see her later that morning in the surgery instead. It was a long meeting as we had to go through all the paperwork and be told about all of our options so that we could make 'informed' decision about the pregnancy! More of that later.

Sarah is now 9 weeks plus 1 day - only another 30 odd weeks to go!

We got back from the surgery about 12.45 and Sarah's mum and stepdad were due to meet us at 1.15 so we could follow them to the crematorium. I still hadn't dug out a suit, shirt, black tie and shoes and cuff links. The first two suits didn't do up around the waist. I think my waistline is coming out in sympathy with Sarah's! Anyway the final one did! So with the ill-fitting clothes strewn all over the floor (memories of teenage years came flooding, although then I thought that was the norm!) Bang on time Sarah's mum arrived - I wasn't ready! I dashed out of the house with suit and shirt on and with tie, jacket and clothes brush in hand having locked the dogs away (we have three by the way!)

The funeral was obviously a sad occaision but very well attended. We weren't able to go to the wake as we had to get back to pick Jack and Ellie up a friends house. Sarah's mum and stepdad came back to ours after the wake and brought fish and chips with them - no cooking tonight! They left about nine, they live in Northampton.

Today started with the annual christmas shop trip to Tesco! Get in early and beat the queues - funny everybody else seems to have had the same idea! Some two and a half hours later and some £200 lighter we were done!(it is a lot but we hadn't been to the supermarket for about three weeks so were out of pretty much everything!) It took almost as long to put all the groceries away as it had to buy them!

Right now it is time for dinner - homemade prawn curry tonight. Oh yes and it is the final of stictly come dancing - so I may well be back later (as it's not really my cup of darjeeling!)
